Emma Pearse

Writer, editor, content & brand strategist

Emma is a writer, editor, PR and content specialist living between Australia and NYC. She is a creative consultant on marketing, book and digital media projects. Her passion is for working with independent brands and initiatives with focuses on social justice, the arts, sustainable design and health and wellness.

Emma has published personal essays and written wellness, culture, and travel features for The New York Times, New York magazine, the Guardian, Elle, Vogue, Spirituality & Health... and more. When not collaborating with awesome businesses, she is slowly at work on her second book. For her first book, which is in bookstores worldwide, Emma retraced the true story of an heroic Blue Heeler who, in 2010, survived in the Australian wild for six months after disappearing overboard from her family boat near the Great Barrier Reef. (Sophie: The Incredible True Story of the Castaway Dog even got a write up on Oprah. See "My Book" page.)

Nobody needs do this alone.  (Well, plenty do...and that can be miserable.)

I offer consulting sessions for small businesses who are daunted by the new digital world and the marketing process. I also work with writers at all stages of book or article projects.

I can:

  • strategize your digital platform, from website makeovers to social media refreshes
  • plan and empower you to navigate PR & media campaigns, locally and internationally
  • help small brands and businesses define their voice, message and marketing presence
  • ghostwrite books and book proposals
  • help navigate the unwieldy world of literary agents and publishers, and mainstream publications
  • guide you through the options of what sort of book you want to write and where it will fit in the market

I've worked with eCommerce labels and small businesses during all stages of launching. As a writer & editor, I've edited cook books, self help books, kids books, and provided editing and writing guidance for literary and popular memoirs.
