Emma Pearse

Writer, editor, teacher, traveler

Emma is an Australian writer and editor living between NYC and Australia. She writes, edits, teaches and consults on book and article projects—and is available for all of it. Emma has written personal essays, culture and travel features for The New York Times, New York magazine, the Guardian, Elle, Smithsonian.com, Vogue... and more. She is slowly at work on her second book, a memoir about adoption and identity, love and healing, and travel. (Yep, all of those.) For her first book, which is in bookstores worldwide, Emma retraced the true story of an heroic Blue Heeler who, in 2010, survived in the Australian wild for six months after disappearing overboard from her family boat near the Great Barrier Reef. (Sophie: The Incredible True Story of the Castaway Dog even got a little write up on Oprah. See "My Book" page.)
